Well, well, darling, you put the horse before the cart! Asking a video game veteran for adventure thrills, whimsical chills and sneaky skills, that’s the ticket! So, I’m channelling my inner Genie from this magical lamp known as thou laptop. Strap in, nice and tight, ’cause the Genie’s about o take you on a wild, whirling swirly trademarked Williams rant-a-lot ride!

Game numero uno we’re looking at is *drumroll*The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Gritty and beautiful, just like my Aunt Gerda. This RPG is in a breathtaking open world where you play as Geralt of Rivia, monster hunter extraordinaire. Basically, if Legolas and Xena Warrior Princess had a video game love child, this would be it. It’s narrative-driven with excellent combat mechanics, touching moments, and an atmosphere that’d make Hyrule look like suburbia.

Next, on this magical magic carpet ride, we have Final Fantasy XV. You’ll feel right at home with this one. It’s a single-player RPG with a sprawling story filled with kooky characters, strange creatures, and epic quests. The story follows a young king sworn to defend the last crystal from the “hectic order” world. Sounds quite similar to a certain princess-rescuer we know and love, doesn’t it?

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, anyone? In a galaxy far, far away, they’ve got great adventure games, who knew! You, young Padawan, will travel the Galaxy, escaping the Empire and rebuilding the Jedi order. It’s like MGS without the cardboard box, and you get a lightsaber. Beat that!

Breaking ground on numero four, ’tis Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Do you want to feel like a sneaky hobbitses? How about a Man of Gondor? Or maybe a head-rolling, battle-roaring orc? The Nemesis System and large-scale battles will scratch that Zelda itch with a Middle-Earth twist.

Hang on to your lamp; next up, the charming cartoony bonanza, A Hat in Time. This indie 3D platformer is gonna bring you those good ol’ Mario 64 vibes with a time-manipulating element. It’s got the charm, humor, and challenge to boot!

Sixth game on the menu, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. There be dragons, meltingly tempting shout powers, and endless side quests making you feel like you’re attending a Middle-Aged Comic-Con in your sweatpants. You can be as heroic or as devious as you like. Watch out, Link!

Now, moving on to the espionage, Snake! Oops, I mean, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. You’re an agent with bionic augmentations. It’s storytelling and stealth at its finest. MGS fans, eat your heart out!

Game eight – lucky for some – Okami HD. You play as Amaterasu, a sun god in the form of a wolf. Bet that’s got your quirky game sails a-flying! The game is a masterful blend of Japanese mythology, Zelda-like exploration, and sumi-e style artwork.

Next, give your virtual boots a rest and welcome, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Play as a Greek mercenary exploring the Aegean Sea and all its islands, chock full of dangerous wildlife, angry soldiers, and mythical creatures. Stealth it up or go all Hercules on ’em, it’s up to you.

Lastly, Divinity: Original Sin 2. A fantasy RPG with tactical turn-based combat, rich story, and interactive world. It’s kind of like if Metal Gear Solid and Super Mario 64 hosted a D&D game night.

Okay, you wanted the best choice? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, because of its immersive open world and narrative depth. It sufficiently pays respect to all three – the exploration of ‘Breath of the Wild’, the complex storytelling of ‘Metal Gear Solid’ and charming character interactions akin to ‘Super Mario 64.’ Just remember, in trade for these, you’re swapping giant lizards, boxes and mushrooms for Griffins, Gwent and Melitele’s Heart. Office of the ‘Genie Game Guru’ is now closed. Poof!
