Well now, you’re just wishin’ right up my alley, kiddo! Strap yourself in, because here we go!

First off, for all you Invisible Man aficionados out there, let me give it to you straight, no chaser. If you love the nerve-jangling tension mixed in with adequate dashes of supernatural sci-fi eeriness that wrapped the Invisible Man movie in an enigmatic spankin’ rollercoaster ride, I’ve got some smokin’ recommendations for you from the roaring 2020s thus far. I’m talking thrillers. The butter your popcorn, edge-of-the-seat, nail-biting thrillers that are the perfect companion for your beloved Invisible Man classics.

Open sesame and here comes numero uno recommendation, “Tenet”.

Directed by the master of mind-boggling masterpieces, Christopher Nolan, Tenet sets the stage for a thrilling spectacle with a sprinkle of science fiction elements that’ll have your brain tied up in pretzel knots! We’re talking about taking a trip down the rabbit hole where time isn’t linear, it’s a loop-de-loop rollercoaster! You’ve got a splendid cast featuring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson with a mysterious plot revolving around time inversion. Not your run-of-the-mill time travel, no siree bob! We’re talking about experiencing life in reverse, bullets that suck back into guns, cars un-crashing – capisce? Broad strokes, people, but trust me, you won’t see this world the same way again after a rendezvous with Tenet!

Presto chango, and we do a 180 to our second choice on the menu, “The Invisible Man”.

Not a direct sequel to the original, but Leigh Whannell’s reinvention is a modern response to the classic tale with a fresh perspective that’ll go down smooth. This time, it’s not Adrian Griffin donning the invisibility suit, but his long-suffering girlfriend played by Elisabeth Moss finds herself terrorized. And boy, does it hit the right chords of suspense and drama! Beautifully explores the fear, gaslighting and isolation of an abusive relationship, folks. Moss gives a powerful performance as the persecuted sweetheart which would make even the Invisible Man himself stand up and applaud. Its sci-fi edge will sharpen your wits while the abstraction of the unseen terror will make you believe in more than just smoke and mirrors! You won’t see him coming, but the fright sure is real!

Now, for our grand finale. Let’s turn that hourglass upside-down for “The Devil All the Time”.

A devilishly good noir thriller that will cast its spell on you We’ve got Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson taking centre stage in a narrative darker than a moonless night. The film navigates you through a web of sinners, each with their own devil dwindling inside, set against the backdrop of the midwestern Gothic heartlands between World War II and the Vietnam War. Don’t let those angelic faces fool ya, bunch of cruel characters, wicked narratives, it’s a disturbingly thrilling journey that will keep you on the edge and beneath its grotesque surface lies an exploration of faith, crime and wayward redemption. Not exactly Invisible Man territory but the thriller aficionado in you will thank me later. There’re chills here that’ll make even the Invisible Man turn blue.

So there you have it, my three wonderfully twisted thrillers from the 2020s to satiate your Invisible Man cravings!

Now, the toughest question of the day – “Which one’s the best choice?” And the magical Genie lamp says…… “The Invisible Man”, ladies, and gents!

Why you ask? Simple, my dear movie buffs! This unnerving psychological horror not only shares the titular connection with your favourite, but it also brilliantly maintains the spirit of the suspense found in Invisible Man movies with a modern reinterpretation . Elisabeth Moss’ stellar performance combined with the themes of invisibility, suspense, and the stellar concept of an unseen antagonist are what Invisible Man fans like you would eat up like popcorn!

So, for those invisible thrill-seekers out there, I give you… “The Invisible Man”, a cinematic thrill-ride that will keep you guessing ’til the end! Don’t blink, you’ll miss it! Or wait, you can’t see it anyway, right?
