Here we go, buckle up chums, we’re about to travel back in time – Whooshh. The 90s, ah yes, the decade that gave us the Macarena, Seinfeld, and my personal favorite, the slap bracelet. It was a golden age, and not just because it was the last decade you could get away with wearing Zubaz pants without ironic nostalgia. But enough about fashion, we’re here for the small screen, the boob tube, the idiot box!

If you’re a fan of “24,” then I’m guessing you’re a fan of tight plots, tense drama, and anti-terrorism, with a dash of, “Wait, can he really do that in a day?” And if you’re into “Adventure Time,” well, you’re all about the whimsical, the fantastical – a kid with an enchanted dog pal rumbling through a post-apocalyptic landscape? It’s creativity in its purest, quirkiest form!

For your viewing pleasure, I’m now going to unveil my top-10 list of 1990s action TV shows, that’ll tickle your fancy, given your interest in the heart-pounding drama of 24 and Adventure Time’s… well, adventure time. Trust me; these will be more exciting than the 90s’ Y2K panic.

Opening the Pandora’s box at number 10, we’ve got ‘Friends’ no wait, that’s the wrong jackpot, it’s ‘Quantum Leap’! Lee Harvey Oswald, Dr. Ruth, Elvis Presley(He ain’t dead, fella). This show has got it all, blending the madcap adventures in time and space and yes, you can see Sam Beckett always trying to set right what once went wrong(mama always said the world is too big and tomato is a fruit, Scooter).

Keeping up the suspense at number 9 we have, ‘The X-Files’. Cue the eerie music because things are about to get a spooky in here. It blends the seriousness of 24 and the rendition of unobserved phenomena of Adventure Time – the aliens are among us folks, Scully and Mulder told us so!

Rising high on 8 is ‘SeaQuest DSV’. It’s just like exploring Ooo in Adventure Time but underwater and with a talking dolphin sidekick(Dare I say, Oooh-awww-awww)!

Bolt to 7th for ‘Flash’! No, not that one, the 90s one! It’s got the speed, the action, and who can forget those lightning bolt earpieces. Flash-y!

Popping in at number 6, we’ve got the thing that goes bump in the night, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. It’s scary good fun! Plus, they have singing demons in one episode so why not?!

At our number 5, let me put on my hat, transform, and say hello to ‘M.A.N.T.I.S.’. We’re talking superhero action with social commentary spritzed in. What more can you ask for?

Blazing our way to number 4 is ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’. Chuck Norris, more like Chuck “Can-Do-More-Than-Jack-Bauer” Norris – the true, action-packed antidote to our 24 addiction.

Imbibing the energy of 3rd place, is the ‘Highlander’. Put aside your samurai swords and raise your claymores, cause there can only be one – one action drama that compares to the best.

Taking the runner-up spot, is ‘Airwolf’. A renegade pilot, advanced helicopter, and a mysterious benefactor, it’s Jack Bauer in the cockpit!

Capping it all off at number 1, here comes the masterpiece of the 90s, ‘Mission: Impossible’ the TV series! It’s got all the espionage and adventure you can handle, with a team that just won’t quit. You thought Jack Bauer was resourceful? Wait till you meet these impossible mission folks!

So there you have it. The best-of-the-best action-adventure series from the 90s to cure your ’24’ and ‘Adventure Time’ cravings. Each of these shows, packed with the action-sequences of ’24,’ and the adventures and charm of ‘Adventure Time.’

For the best pick? Yessire, drop the fanfare and roll the drums, Showdowntime! We’re going for ‘Mission: Impossible.’ Why? Because just like ’24,’ it’s got espionage, suspense, and action against the ticking clock. It also has the team dynamics you’d see in Adventure Time, along with the unpredictable, globe-trotting, surprise-filled adventures. It’s a show that quite literally says, ‘your mission, should you choose to accept it,’ and we are indeed going to accept it, just like we’re embracing some serious 90s nostalgia.

So grab your popcorn, kick back, and tune in, cause it’s time for a trip back to the decade of Boy Bands and Furbies, for these pulse-pounding action tv shows. Because in the end, isn’t it all about the adrenaline of the chase and the love for the eccentric?
