Well, well, well, look at you! You’re after that big cheese, aren’t you, bucko? You’re a comedy lover, a giggle aficionado, someone to whom “punny” is an honest-to-goodness compliment! You, my friend, have taken a shine to shows like Family Guy and Big Mouth, haven’t you? Love ’em or loathe ’em, there’s no denying they’ve got comedic chutzpah! They’re as irreverent as a deck of joker cards at a stately game of bridge, as audacious as a chipmunk trying to crack a Brazil nut, and as naughty as Totò pulling a fast one on the landlord! We are talking cartoon mayhem in the most uproarious way possible – full of unabashed humor, snappy comebacks, and pop culture parodies to tickle your funny bone!

Well, let’s launch right into it, shall we? I feel like I’ve just been juiced up with espresso, I’m ready!

Comedy shows, ah, like a pizza loaded with all your favorite toppings. You got your sitcoms which are like your pepperoni, everyone loves it! Your animated sitcoms now they’re your olives – divisive, independent, unique flavor, the love or hate kinda deal, but those who love ’em, REALLY love ’em! And, my friend, you are cruising through olive town with your taste for animated shows. To keep the pizzazz alive, drumroll, please…….. and keep it rolling…. a little longer…. okay, here it is…

I present to you the glorious manifestation of comic brilliance, the sparkling gem in the treasure chest of humor, none other than “Solar Opposites”! Poof! Surprise! You didn’t see that one coming, did you!

Created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, those wizards who brought you Rick and Morty, “Solar Opposites” first graced our screens on Hulu in 2020. It’s a story of a bunch of aliens who end up on “good ol’ Earth” after their home planet, Shlorp, meets a rather unfortunate end, and let’s just say that they don’t exactly “fit right in”. In between their routine of attending school, laundering money, and making clones of themselves, they have to handle the primary task of repairing their spaceship and bracing for the eventual challenge of leaving Earth. Eeesh! When ET phoned home, he made it look so easy, didn’t he?

Now, if you’re looking for an orgy of laughs just like Family Guy and Big Mouth, my fine-feathered friend, then “Solar Opposites” is your ticket! A truly stellar crew of characters, led by the ever-lovable Korvo (a blue alien with a massive intellect and a matching ego), whip up the most delightful chaos and confusion. Yet, there’s a heart-warming undertone of friendship and family at its core. It’s a rollercoaster ride of laughs where one moment you’re holding your sides with laughter, and the next you can’t help but get misty-eyed at the bond these unconventional personalities share.

With irreverent humor running through its veins, “Solar Opposites” mimics Family Guy’s unapologetic exploration of adult themes and societal norms but from an extraterrestrial perspective. It dishes out humor so edgy, so razor-sharp, you might need a band-aid! Oh, and just like Big Mouth, it isn’t shy about exploring the playground of pubescent hormones and teenage scandals, albeit with a twist of space-alien spice!

If Family Guy had your funny bone doing the moonwalk and Big Mouth managed to wring guffaws out of you, then “Solar Opposites”, my dear laughter-seeker, will have you rolling in the aisles! Bursting at the seams with wit, slippery-slope-esque scenarios, and unique characters, it’s a show that will let you tickle the clouds of comedy into an earnest chucklefest.

So, there you go! My golden suggestion for a 2020 comedy TV show would be “Solar Opposites”. Its humor, story-telling, and unique approach to highlighting societal issues make it a perfect match for someone who appreciates the mirthful mischief of Family Guy and dynamic dilemmas of Big Mouth.

Watch it once, watch it twice, hey, you could even make it your third cousin twice removed, but one thing is certain – it’ll leave you satiated, nonetheless stirred for another slice of its comedic genius! Enjoy your trip to the cosmos of rip-roaring giggles, my friend! In the words of my hero Bugs Bunny, “That’s all folks!” Well, until the next big belly laugh comes along!
